Originally gukor were under construction in XIII - XV centuries in the Netherlands as fishing boat. Later, in XVI - XVII centuries their sizes have increased, and they were used in many countries of Northern Europe as military transport court. Sometimes for self-defense on gukor established 8-10 small guns. The vessel had two masts and long bowsprit, on which fastened fore-topmast stay-sail, jib and sub-jib. On a fore-mast lifted trysail with free bottom leech and above it topsail and tall topsail, on a jigger-mast - jigger; and tall jigger. Large gukor had three masts, carrying capacity up to 200 т and contained up to 300 persons. Crew 70 persons. Length up to 40 м, width up to 12 m.
