English galleon “Golden Hind”

The vessel was
constructed per 60 years XVI centuries in England and originally referred to as
"Pelican". On it the English seafarer F. Drake in 1577-1580 years
together with four other ships has undertaken piracy expedition to West Indies and has made second (after
Magellan) round-the-world navigation. In memory that to it was possible to
leave from a pursuit of Spaniards, and wishing to note perfect seaworthy
qualities of the ship, F. Drake has renamed it in " Golden Hind " and
has established in fore of a part of a vessel an ornament from pure gold -
figure graceful hind. Length galleon 18,3 ì, width 5,8
ì, deposit 2,45 ì, displacement 150 ò. It was one of smallest galleons.
The model is executed in scale 1:60.
Length 26” (640 mm), width 9” (230 mm), height
21” (520 mm).
